Teaching for Tomorrow: Flipped Learning
A new succesful Erasmus+ project at Péter András Grammar School
Our school successfully applied for a new Erasmus+ KA2 program, which is funded by the European Union and involves altogether seven countries: Turkey (Istanbul), Italy (Perugia), Croatia (Zagreb), Portugal (Vialonga), Latvia (Ogre), Czech Republic (Otrokovice) and Hungary (Szeghalom).
The 24-month-long program started in September 2017 and gives 8 students and 13 teachers an opportunity to travel abroad and cooperate in different tasks. The topic of this project is ’Flipped Learning’ and learning about the culture of other countries. Communication is carried out in English which offers opportunity for practising and improving foreign language knowledge. The aim of the project is to get to know and aquire the effective use of modern ICT tools during lessons. Furthermore, the program deals with analytical studies about preventing early school leaving.
The first transnational project meeting of the Erasmus+ project called „Teaching for Tomorrow: Flipped Learning” (No.: 2017-1-TR01-KA219-046720_4) took place in Riga, Latvia from 16 to 19 October 2017. The local coordinator, Aniko Kovacs and the headmistress of our school, Somogyine Ambrus Erika participated in this meeting. The aim of this event was to introduce all the partner institutions and to define the operative tasks of the project.
By the end of the meeting expected impacts, outputs and the strategy of disseminations were defined; local, national and social media management strategy was specified. A project calendar was prepared to follow the activities month by month. The mobility dates were made clear and we planned all the programs, tasks and activities to do until/during the next event in Zagreb, Croatia in January 2018.
Besides professional consultations our hosts offered us rich cultural programs to get familiar with the sights of Riga. I would like to snatch at the chance to thank Gundega Vekmane and Velga Kalnina for their devoted work in organising this event.
